Description
Overview
Rotek UV sanitation lamps are available to suit a wide variety of flow rates and water qualities. Commercial-use lamps have a stainless steel chamber and separate power supply. Chambers are single or multi-lamp types and all have mounting brackets to simplify installation. In selecting a UV system for any application, attention must be paid to flow rate, lamp power and UV transmittance of the water stream being treated.
Short wavelength ultra-violet radiation (254nm or in the UVC band) is an effective means of disrupting microbial DNA which removes their ability to reproduce or survive. Sanitising UV light will kill bacteria, viruses, yeasts and moulds and is most effective when used downstream from a sediment filtration system. It may be used for sanitation of surfaces and liquid streams, eliminating the need for chemical treatment.
